School Based Music Therapy
Music Blooms Music Therapy, LLC proudly offers music therapy services for students in a school setting. Music therapy can be provided on an individual and group basis and can be included on students’ IEPs. Students of all abilities can participate in music therapy.
Music therapy can support:
- Receptive and expressive communication
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Reduction of stress, depression, and anxiety
In addition to addressing the above goals, music therapists can co-treat with complementary therapies as well as provide consultations about mainstreaming and inclusion.
Music Blooms Music Therapy, LLC provides:
- An initial consultation with parents/caregivers, teachers, principals, administrators, and/or therapists.
- A music therapy assessment, which determines a student’s eligibility for music therapy services
- Recommendations for further treatment
Once treatment needs are determined, the music therapist can then:
- Provide music therapy services in individual or group settings
- Target the student’s IEP goals
- Co-treat with related therapies
- Chart the student’s progress
- Assist with mainstreaming and inclusion
